Happy Corgi Friday: Two New Corgis To Follow

Ok, it’s wonderfully clear how much we love corgis at TrackMaven…even at events we attend we profess our obsession with corgis. I mean really how could you say no to these pups. Think about Maven’s combination of tracking everything on your competitors and being a cute, derpy corgi at THE SAME TIME. Irresistable.

Maybe, I didn’t exactly convince you over, but these two corgis that we’ve started following will.

First, meet Jackson Gatsby Stubbington

He’s about 4-5 month old corgi puppy that has enraptured the entire office. You won’t be able to contain yourself with these next pictures.

Ok hopefully you haven’t completely lost it because now meet Stumphrey, Corgnelius’s new puppy brother.

We’ve always been fans of Corgnelius, especially since he’s basically the Ryan Gosling of corgis, but Stumphrey is quickly taking the spotlight.

Happy Corgi Friday. #dropsmic

Slideshare Tuesday: Semper Social

Its hard for me to think about times where I didn’t use Twitter, Facebook, email or even have a smartphone. Maybe that sounds a little pathetic or I’m completely aligning with my “millenial” side and digital native-ness; however try to think about the last time you were completely without those things. I’m not talking about where to limited yourself, but a time where Facebook, Twitter, email, your cellphone (I like to refer to it as another organ a part of my body) didn’t even exist?

In the past social was limited to face to face interaction and didn’t involve the other technological parts. There was an art to conversation speaking with another person.

And I would like to argue that all still exists, but now adding all of the channels I can’t remember not having.

For this Slideshare Thursday I found Guy Kawaski’s Semper Social deck. Being social has a completely new definition and a new set of rules as well too. Guy Kawaski puts it all eloquently in his Slideshare with terms all of our companies should follow.

Data: Toilet Paper Brands On Twitter

Last summer I was scanning through some of my daily reads and I happened upon this article from Hubspot about the 14 Funny Brands You Can’t Help But Follow On Social Media. The first brand immediately caught my eye — my beloved toilet paper brand Charmin. From their epic #tweetfromtheseat to their follower engagement, I just was giddy over the absolute silliness that Charmin, permanently housed in my bathroom had established a huge presence on Twitter.

In this highly shareable and social world we currently live in, it’s becoming a requirement to not only have this commodity in your restroom, but also the toilet paper brands know they have to hold residence in your Twitter feeds too.

We noticed some cool Twitter data trends with Charmin, Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Cottonelle, Seventh Generation, and Scott Brand in the 140 characters they chose to tweet out. From their follower count, tweets per day, and average retweets, did your brand of choice rise to the top?

Top Followers

1. Seventh Generation - 50895
2. Charmin - 16057
3. White Cloud - 5146
4. Quilted Northern - 4255
5. Cottonelle - 3140
6. Angel Soft - 413
7. Scott Brand - 0 (RuhRoh)

Top 3 Average Tweets Per Day

1. White Cloud - 2
2. Charmin - 1.71
3. Angel Soft - 1.28

Top 3 Average Retweets Per Tweet

1. Charmin - 5.58
2. Seventh Generation - 3.5
3. Cottonelle - 1.66

These numbers are pretty cool, right? Who knew that these brands were also powerhouses on Twitter outside of the bathroom. Not convinced yet? Check out a few examples of the most engaging individual tweets I found on TrackMaven.

This Tweet from Quilted Northern was 7 times more engaging than their average with 7 RTs.

Charmin kills it with their tweets and this one was 6.20 times more engaging than their average with 31 RTs.

This Tweet was as engaging as their average with 6 RTs, but it gave me a little laugh .

Unexpected, right? Just as its a bathroom essential, these brands know that it’s just as key to be social as well. To be frank, everyone needs it and in a way toilet paper is the household item that sells itself. Unroll your brand on Twitter to release some cool data like these toilet paper brands.

Let me know what you think about this competitive data and if you have a competitive set you want us to look at shoot me an email me at [email protected], tweet at me (@sabelharris), or throw Maven a bone (@TrackMavenApp).
