The streets of Cleveland are once again running orange thanks to the influx of 2,500 content marketers from across the nation (and the globe) for Content Marketing World 2014.
Headlining the agenda this year is a veritable who’s-who of content creators and marketing strategists. And — as marketers are wont to do — many of the featured speakers have taken to the Twittersphere to chronicle their #CMWorld commentary, highlights, and takeaways.
As a marketing analytics company, we couldn’t help but think about the speakers’ social presence at CMWorld from a data-driven perspective. Which speaker’s Tweets will get the most interaction? Which speaker will see the highest return on their #CMWorld Twitter presence?
To answer those questions, we’ve put our analytics platform to work on a real-time analysis of the speakers’ engagement levels on Twitter.
Introducing the #CMWorld Speaker Leaderboard
Throughout Content Marketing World 2014, we’ll be presenting a real-time #CMWorld Speaker Leaderboard, ranking each speaker’s level of engagement on Twitter by average retweets per tweet.
As a baseline for our analysis, here is the ranking for the CMWorld Speakers for the 7 days preceding the conference:

In lavender at the top, Scott Stratten‘s share of retweets ballooned to 16% of the speakers’ total in the days preceding the conference, as did the Content Marketing Institute’s Twitter handle (ice blue).
Kevin Spacey — the maroon diamond in the middle — saw a burst of interactions on September 5th, while Chad Zimmerman, (dark blue) maintained a steady 11% of the share of retweets over the past week.
And just for fun… what happens if we add the House of Cards Twitter handle to the CMWorld Speaker group?
That blue swath in the middle is House of Cards, dominating the share of interactions on Twitter compared to this year’s CMWorld speakers.
So take note, content marketers, and channel your inner Frank Underwood.
