Banner Ad
A Banner Ad is a form of advertising that utilizes a graphic display to market a company. Banner ads usually appear along the borders of a web page: at the top, bottom, left, or right. They often take a rectangular shape and can contain both images and text. Banner ads are published on a third party’s web page, whether it be another company’s website or a search results page, and redirect anyone who clicks on the ad to the advertising company’s website - usually a specific page specified by the company who bought the paid advertising. The advertiser pays the host website for the banner ad depending on their arrangements. The payment could be made based on on clicks (PPC), where the advertiser pays the host for every click the ad receives, or it could be based on impressions (PPI), where the advertiser pays for the ad to be shown a certain number of times.
Why are Banner Ads important?
Banner Ads are popular tools in paid advertising and are used frequently in PPC campaigns. Their positioning on various web pages makes them effective at driving traffic to a company’s website. These are great for increasing brand awareness, as web users see a company’s advertisement in a banner ad next to relevant content they are viewing, and when they are posted on web pages with high traffic.
