At TrackMaven, we believe our team should be full of Mavens: people who are absurdly talented and passionate, but also a little bit goofy. We launched TM Talks — a weekly speaker series hosted at TRACKMAVEN HQ — so that our team can learn from innovators and industry leaders who are Mavens in their own right.
Spring has sprung in Washington, D.C., and it brought a few fantastic TM Talk speakers with it! In March, we learned about saving bones (er, money!) for retirement, storytelling for fundraising, as well as a few insider tips for using our own platform. Here are the highlights from our March 2015 TM Talks:
- Eddie Owen from Raffa Financial Services introduced our team to our new 401K plan! Eddie taught us the basics of saving for retirement, including how to calculate how much to set aside so that we can retire when we’re old dogs. :)
- Alice Butler, Director of Individual Giving at Communities in Schools, shared her expertise on how storytelling impacts fundraising in the non-profit world.
It was fascinating to see how the donor acquisition cycle directly mirrors our own sales cycle. And of course, we loved learning more about Communities and Schools and all the work they’re doing to decrease the dropout rate across the United States!
- To finish out the month our quirky team of Customer Success Mavens taught us a thing or two about the TrackMaven application through a competitive rendition of TrackMaven trivia!
For example — “How many metrics in TrackMaven are measured on a Logarithmic scale?” We all learned it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks. (Sorry — I had to!)
