TM Talks: Nibbles & Bits From Our Weekly Speaker Series

As the Operations Analyst Maven at TrackMaven, cultivating a creative and inspiring work environment for our team of Mavens is my top priority. The launch of TM Talks — a weekly speaker series hosted at TrackMaven HQ is one exciting new initiative towards this goal.

We believe our team should be full of Mavens: people who are absurdly talented and passionate, but also a little bit goofy. Our TM Talks create an opportunity for our team to hear from innovators and industry leaders who are Mavens in their own right.

We hosted four rufftastic individuals from a variety of backgrounds for this month’s TM Talks. Here are some nibbles and bits from what we learned!

  • Zach Maurin, Executive Director of ServiceNation, spoke to us about why a service year should be encouraged, legislated, and funded in the United States. We learned about grassroots advocacy, using research and data to change behaviors, and how Service Nation is leveraging big brands that millennials care about to reach their audience.

  • Geoff Livingston, founder of Tenacity5 Media, talked to us about wearable technology and the future of media. We were pretty impressed when he called his wife from his smart watch!

  • Our own Senior Competitive Intelligence Maven Bryan Sartory gave a presentation on scaleable content marketing. He taught us about the history of marketing, and covered some of the pain points felt by digital marketers today. (It’s not easy being a digital marketer…. but TrackMaven can help! #shamelessplug)

  • And last but not least, UX designer Drew Lepp explained the psychology behind designing products that delight users. From the simple utility of the wheel to the life-saving technologies of space suits, she explained how to bring humanity to technology to create products people don’t want to live without.

Our first month of TM Talks was incredibly successful, and we’re looking forward to the lineup of speakers to come!
